New South Dwarka (NSD) is planned to be a sustainable rural Vaiṣṇava community in New South Wales, Australia, inspired by the teachings and mission of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda. The project is centred around the glorification of Śrī Śrī Rādhā Dvārakādīśa, whose qualities of harmony, protection and service guide the spirit of the entire village.

NSD is envisioned as a practical demonstration of Śrīla Prabhupāda’s instructions on simple living, higher thinking, protected cow care, Vedic agriculture, values based education, devotional culture and responsible community life. The project aims to show that these principles are not historical ideals but living systems that can nourish land, animals and people when applied with care, integrity and proper spiritual purpose.

The community is planned to function as one interdependent devotional organism. The gardens will regenerate the soil, the protected cows will enrich the land, the Gurukul will nurture children through lived example, the retreat will serve as an outreach arm and the cultural precinct, home to Śrī Śrī Rādhā Dvārakādīśa, will provide a sacred space for reflection, gratitude, worship and devotional culture. Each part of NSD is designed to support the others so that no single precinct dominates the identity or land use of the village.

A key aim of NSD is to apply Vaiṣṇava varṇāśrama principles in a way that is practical, compassionate and suited to time, place and circumstance. This includes meaningful service roles, food independence, protected cow care, education, spiritual practice, household responsibility, land stewardship, elder support and community contribution. The aim is not artificial social division but a devotional village structure where every person, family and precinct has a purposeful role in Krishna’s service.

NSD is also planned around practical closed loop systems. Food production, rainwater harvesting, solar energy, biogas, composting, recycling, natural materials, cow protection, education, outreach and community service are intended to work together as one connected model. Organic outputs are to be responsibly returned to useful service wherever safe and appropriate, while waste reduction, reuse and carbon conscious design guide the physical development of the village.

A key aim of NSD is to demonstrate the intergenerational effects of compassionate cow care, including how natural herd structures, calm environments, calf first principles and lifelong protection influence the wellbeing of the animals and the character of the milk they produce. Through transparent demonstration and education, NSD hopes to show how Vedic agricultural principles can enrich soil, stabilise ecosystems and uplift community life.

Guided by Śrīla Prabhupāda’s emphasis on self sufficiency and stewardship, NSD is planned to operate through renewable energy, biogas, rainwater harvesting, regenerative farming, productive gardens, recycling systems and low impact construction. The community will follow a non expansion, fixed capacity model to ensure that the land, atmosphere, devotional purpose and ecological balance remain protected for future generations.

Once established, NSD will welcome families, visitors, school groups, retreat guests and community members to experience a place where service, ecology, education, protected cow care and devotion come together naturally under the shelter of Śrī Śrī Rādhā Dvārakādīśa.
