OUR MISSION
New South Dwarka (NSD) is a proposed non sectarian Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava community in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia, dedicated to demonstrating Bhakti in Motion through spiritual practice, education, compassionate, selfless service, cow protection, agriculture, responsible, sustainable and environmentally conscious community living.
Rooted in Sanātana dharma and the Brahma Madhva Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava disciplic succession, NSD follows the teachings of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu as presented by Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura, Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī and His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda.
At the heart of these teachings is the eternal relationship between the living being and the Supreme Lord and the cultivation of loving devotional service. As explained by Śrīla Prabhupāda, Sanātana dharma is not restricted by temporary religious, national or cultural designations. New South Dwarka seeks to demonstrate this understanding through genuine hospitality, spiritual education, mutual respect and opportunities for people of all backgrounds to participate in meaningful service.
The community will be centred upon Śrī Śrī Rādhā Dvārakādīśa with the Temple Compound drawing inspiration from Lord Kṛṣṇa's sacred city of Dvārakā. Its surrounding precincts will bring together Vaiṣṇava varṇāśrama living, Kṛṣṇa consciousness education, lifelong cow protection, agricultural cultivation, spiritual retreats, cultural preservation and community outreach.
The gardens will also serve as a living educational landscape, tracing the botanical origins and historical journeys of foods and plants throughout the world and demonstrating how the natural gifts of creation may be engaged in Kṛṣṇa's service.
Guided by the principle of simple living with higher thinking, NSD will integrate regenerative agriculture, water stewardship, renewable energy, protected growing environments and cooperative community responsibilities within a carefully planned, environmentally responsible village.
Through Bhakti in Motion, New South Dwarka aims to make devotion visible through everyday actions, where spiritual knowledge inspires compassion, responsibility and service for the benefit of all living beings.
OUR PILLARS
Prabhupāda and Paramparā
The teachings of His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda and the Brahma Madhva Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava disciplic succession form NSD's spiritual foundation. Religious principles, devotional practices and community values are guided by their authorised teachings, with practical planning reflecting the principles of simple living and higher thinking.
Non Sectarian Sanātana Dharma
NSD recognises the eternal spiritual nature of all living beings and the cultivation of love and service to the Supreme Lord beyond temporary religious, national and cultural designations. Rooted in authentic Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava teachings, the community encourages spiritual understanding, mutual respect and sincere devotion without sectarian prejudice.
Vaiṣṇava Varṇāśrama
NSD applies Vaiṣṇava varṇāśrama principles through purposeful service, family responsibility, education, protected cow care, land stewardship and community cooperation. Responsibilities are guided by individual qualities, abilities and circumstances rather than birth or social status, allowing residents to contribute through devotional activities, practical skills, professional work and suitable community service.
Vāstu Harmony
The village layout is guided by traditional Vāstu principles and Vaiṣṇava considerations, including direction, placement, proportion, natural light, movement and sacred orientation. The Temple Compound also draws inspiration from Lord Kṛṣṇa's city of Dvārakā, supporting a devotional atmosphere, community wellbeing and practical village life.
Land and Ecological Care
Regenerative agriculture, rainwater harvesting, renewable energy, natural materials, soil restoration, habitat protection, passive design and responsible resource management guide the care of the land. NSD aims to reduce environmental impact while protecting biodiversity and supporting long term ecological resilience.
Closed Loop Sustainability
Food, water, energy, waste reduction, recycling, biogas, composting and resource recovery are designed as interconnected systems. Each precinct will contribute to the wider village, reducing unnecessary waste, improving resource efficiency and supporting responsible community living.
Cow Protection and Ahimsa
Protected cows receive full lifetime care. Calves drink first, natural herd life is respected, cows are honoured as mothers, and bulls and oxen are treated with dignity and compassion. The goshālā promotes traditional cow protection, responsible breeding, agricultural cooperation and lifelong care without slaughter or abandonment.
Spiritual Culture
Daily sādhana, deity worship, kīrtana, prasādam, festivals, sacred sound and devotional practices form the spiritual heart of the community. Spiritual retreats and cultural activities will provide opportunities for reflection, devotional understanding and personal growth while maintaining the authentic teachings of the Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava tradition.
Education and Spiritual Knowledge
The Kṛṣṇa centred Gurukulam combines Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava teachings with NSW educational requirements, agricultural learning, character development and practical responsibility. The Museum and Library will preserve authorised scriptures, the teachings of the paramparā and the universal spiritual principles of Sanātana dharma through historical research and educational exhibitions.
Food Resilience and Botanical Heritage
Organic gardens, protected growing systems, vertical cultivation, pollinator habitats, orchards and prasādam preparation support local food resilience. The gardens will also form a living world map of botanical origins and historical trade routes, demonstrating how plants travelled between civilisations and shaped India's culinary, floral and agricultural traditions, with all nature understood as belonging to Kṛṣṇa.
Service and Community Contribution
Every person has an opportunity to contribute according to their abilities and circumstances. Sevā encourages responsibility, cooperation, compassion and spiritual growth. Through meaningful service, residents, pilgrims, volunteers and visitors can participate in supporting the community and its wider charitable purposes.
Safety, Care and Inclusion
Strong child safe practices, clear safeguarding systems, responsible governance, respectful conduct and protection for residents and visitors are central to NSD's integrity. The community welcomes people of diverse faiths, cultures and backgrounds to participate respectfully in appropriate activities while maintaining its Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava spiritual foundation.
